Metropolitan Mall
A mall and hotel complex at 22 Godam Circle, completed 2007.
The Metropolitan Mall puts a hotel on top of a shopping centre, which is harder than it sounds: the two want different column grids, different floor-to-floors and entirely separate circulation. The scheme resolves it by keeping the retail floors open and deep, then transferring to a tighter grid for the rooms above, with the hotel given its own arrival away from the mall entrance.
Built for Emaar MGF at 22 Godam Circle, Jaipur, with 4 lac sq.ft across ten floors at a cost of Rs 100 cr. Two lac sq.ft of shopping and food court occupy four floors, with a 91-room ITC Fortune hotel on the upper four and two levels of basement parking.
